For my Webquest I chose to have my students conduct online research about the state of California. I believe that the website is user friendly and simple to get through, So far I have added the task, the standards, the learner area, and a few other small portions. I would still like to add some pictures and finish up my WebQuest completely. As far as other comments I am feeling pretty proud of myself for creating this piece. It is interesting to see the small things that I have created come to life on a website.

Intended webquest
I would like my webquest to consist of my students looking up things that make their home state of California special. I would like them to name some of the various symbols of California and in turn make a flyer in order to attract tourists to visit our unique state.
The standards my webquest will cover are:
A- California K-12 Academic Content Standards
• Subject : History & Social Science
• Grade : Grade Four
• Area : California: A Changing State
Students learn the story of their home state, unique in American history in terms of its vast and varied geography, its many waves of immigration beginning with pre-Columbian societies, its continuous diversity, economic energy, and rapid growth. In addition to the specific treatment of milestones in California history, students examine the state in the context of the rest of the nation, with an emphasis on the U.S. Constitu-tion and the relationship between state and federal government.
• Sub-Strand 4.1: Students demonstrate an understanding of the physical and human geographic features that define places and regions in California.
Standard 5: Use maps, charts, and pictures to describe how communities in California vary in land use, vegetation, wildlife, climate, population density, architecture, services, and transportation.
The students will create a flyer with the information they found with their webquest. They will also post the link within their flyer for the public to view for further information.
